SOUTHERN CROSS

Sited on the ridgeline in the evolving coastal community of Sunrise Beach, Southern Cross House presents strong horizontal planes that seek to balance visual privacy, acoustic separation, shading, connection to outdoors and access to views.

On the ground floor, a continuous 7-meter-wide horizontal void connects the front and back yards while accommodating living, kitchen, and dining spaces. At the rear, oversized doors slide away to be concealed in the walls, creating a seamless aperture to outside. The upper floor captures ocean views to the east and mountain views to the west.

The low maintenance material palette was curated as a response to the coastal environment and a laidback lifestyle of Sunrise Beach.
